Does iPhone support split-screen?
Unfortunately, iPhone doesn’t have a built-in split-screen feature for now. The split-screen feature I talk about here is using two apps simultaneously on the same screen on your iPhone so that you can handle multi-tasks like what you can do on iPad.
However, you can split the screen on iPhone with the help of some apps.
How to Split Screen on iPhone
Thankfully, on the iOS App Store, several apps allow you to use two apps at the same time, even if it’s not a feature that comes with iPhone.
Some apps are free and some are paid. Please note that the prices of the apps showing below are what I saw when writing this article. So, the prices may have changed depending on when you’re reading this.
1. Split Screen View (Free)
Secondly, “Split Screen View”. This app is FREE. You can use two apps at the same time.
The only criticism is that the design is a bit dated. But does that matter? We’ll leave that to you to decide.
2. WebDuo Pro ($5.99)
The second app to talk about is WebDuo Pro. A web browser that allows you to have two tabs open on the same page.
However, you can only use two websites simultaneously, not apps. Therefore, if you wish to text your friend while scrolling on Twitter, you will not be able to.
3. Split Web Browser (Free)
Finally, “Split Web Browser” is similar to WebDuo Pro, with one crucial difference. It’s Free!
If you wish to use two websites on your iPhone simultaneously, this is the app we recommend.
How to Play Two YouTube Videos at the Same Time on iPhone
Have you ever wanted to watch two YouTube videos at the same time? Perhaps you want to watch one video without the sound- such as a tutorial. And another video just for the sound- such as a podcast. Here is how to do it.
- Open the YouTube App.
- Open one of the videos you want to watch, and select “Share”.
- Select “Copy Link”.
- Open your iPhone’s Browser App.
- Open an Incognito Tab.
- Paste the link to the YouTube video into the URL bar.
- Select “More Options”.
- Select “Request Desktop Site”.
The next step is to open the YouTube app again using split-screen. This could be with one of the apps we talk about earlier or with your iPhone’s built-in split-screen feature.
Alternatively, if you have either WebDuo Pro or Split Web Browser, you could just open the two YouTube Videos you want on whichever browser you’re using.
